Tubular FFS Bagging Machine

Tubular FFS Bagging Machine 1

The Tubular Forming Machine (FFS) is a viable option for packaging, from a tubular reel, large sizes (up to 50 kg).

Appreciated solution and preferable to VFFS when there is a need to combine requirements such as high productivity, aesthetic appearance, bag strength and small footprint.

Fully automated system characterized by three operating stations.

Thus, by three distinct phases prepared:

  1. To the formation of the bag and cutting the film
  2. To filling package
  3. To the final sealing

According to Future Market Insight (FMI), there will be significant growth in the industry of 5.1 percent annually. According to the outlook it will reach $17.9 billion by 2032, up from $11.5 billion in 2022.

In this guide we will analyze and explain in detail:

  • Difference between Vertical Packaging Machines and Tubular Forming Machines

Difference between Vertical Packaging Machine and Tubular Forming Machine

The main difference between these two types of machines comes from the reel.

If vertical packaging machines allow bag forming from flat reel, the forming machine uses a tubular reel.

This implies the following differences:

  • Bags from flat reel are created through a forming tube, not necessary for film from tubular reel.
  • The resulting package from vertical packaging machine usually has a longitudinal seal, which is not present in those from forming machine.
  • Tubular machines use a minimum amount of film at the sealing point, an important feature for dusty products.
  • The use of the tubular forming machine is required especially in those areas where special aesthetic care of the bag is required, at a slightly higher reel cost.
  • The tubular forming machine also allows larger sizes to be generated at higher production speeds.
  • In the forming machine, the bag corners can be closed with 45-degree sealing, limiting excess bag edges and creating a more pleasing bag shape that facilitates palletizing.

This type of sealing also prevents product from being stuck in the corners of the bag at the time of unloading.

Applications

The tubular forming machine is particularly versatile.

In fact, the features listed above allow the machinery to be applied in a variety of areas.

High production rates, a particular propensity for packaging large formats, and the ability to process granular and powdery products make it an ideal choice for packaging:

  • Fertilizers
  • Chemicals
  • Plastic granule

We have made installations that include tubular forming machines at major companies in Italy and around the world.

MF Tecno solutions

Our tubular forming machine, the MF TUBE, is the ideal solution for handling flowing, powdery and granular products.

Depending on product characteristics, it can reach an output of 2000 bags/hour for large sizes.

The machine, made entirely of stainless steel, can process a wide range of both food and corrosive products.

The forming machine is equipped with three operating stations:

  • At the first station, sealing of the bottom of the bag takes place while the film is cut to the predetermined length.
  • At the second station, the bag is filled
  • In the third and final station, the upper bag sealing takes place.

All operations are easily managed by the operator via PLC.

Due to its small footprint and consequent space optimization, the machine is suitable for installation in even the tightest production spaces.

Often included in complete packaging lines; including palletizing systems and pallet wrappers.
