Fertilizers packaging: let’s get some insight!

Let's talk about a product that we at MF TECNO are able to manage and package: Fertilizers.

These can be considered as a source of nutrients used to enhance the natural fertility of the soil and to promote plant growth where the fertility is not good or sufficient.

Fertilizers can be basically divided into 2 categories, organic and chemical (inorganic).

Chemical fertilizers consist of synthetic compound substances created to increase crop yields and they can be nitrogen, phosphate, potassium-based.

Fertilizers can be found in different forms: Powder, granular, pelleted and even liquid.

MF TECNO Packaging systems for Fertilizers:

When talking about fertilizer packaging systems, the type of construction of the machinery is important and all parts that come in contact with such a corrosive and eroding product as fertilizer should be made of stainless steel. 

This material is able to create a protective coating that acts as a barrier between the metal and the corrosive agent.

This guarantees durability over time and indestructible machinery, always combined with the highest technology.

Moving to the most suitable machinery for fertilizers packaging designed and manufactured by MF TECNO, we want to mention:

Vertical Packaging Machines: Machines that can create bags starting from a film reel.

MF TUBE FFS is able to Form, Fill and Seal bags and pouches starting from a PE tubular reel. That explains the presence of 3 main stations:

The first station is responsible for closing and forming the bottom of the bag, cutting the film to the required length, in the second station it is filled and in the last one the bag is sealed.

About features, two of the main advantages of this FFS packaging machinery are:

- high production output: we can reach up to 2000 bags/h, according to the kind of product

- the sturdiness and compactness of the package, free from vertical welding

What about bags and pouches for fertilizer?

Fertilizer package must have some main characteristics:

• Mechanical Resistance: Resistance in the event of impacts and falls to prevent the product from leaking
• Environmental Resistance: Resistance to atmospheric agents that could damage or alter the fertilizer

These requirements must be met both in the case of organic fertilizers and in the case of chemical ones.

In both cases the bags are closed by impulse sealing system.
