Milk Powder Packaging can be a complex process if not managed correctly.

If you are a milk powder producer and you are searching for a milk powder packaging system you are in the right place! Milk powder is a manufactured dairy product made by evaporating milk to dryness. The product should have the most extended shelf life possible and the bags must be clean after the bagging process (no product residuals on the bag).
Thanks to the use of innovative technologies, all of the machines that we propose are designed to guarantee that powdered milk is perfectly packaged.

The parts in contact with the product are in AISI 304 Stainless Steel to keep the highest hygienic standards and avoid contaminations. In addition to the parts in contact with the product, the entire machinery can also be made of stainless steel.

The types of bags commonly used are: Preformed Open Mouth bags or Bags made from a flat film reel. Talking about preformed bags, the most used for milk powder are paper bags with PE inner liner. This materials are used for bags starting from 10 kg upwards.

In the bag filling process, a deaeration probe can be added, to reduce the volume of the product.

To get a better bag shape the top of the bag can be squeezed by a special device.
 

To avoid product residuals during the sealing phase, we use the bag edge cleaning device. After that, the bags are sealed and sewn.

There can be a double step closure: heat-sealing for the inner liner and the outer paper bag, in addition to plain stitching, sewing through crepe paper stitching; sewing through adhesive tape stitching, folding the sewn top and pinch-top are also widely used.

Vertical Packing Machine VFFS

For smaller bags, up to 5 Kg PE-coated aluminium foil is usually produced by a vertical packaging machine (VFFS) from a film reel. A vertical packaging machine takes care of forming, filling and sealing pillow bags.

We guarantee maximum attention to the tightness of closure, hygiene, and containment the of dust dispersion during the bagging phase.

Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) for milk powder

As you might know, foodstuff producers are always happy to find natural ways to extend the shelf life of their products.

MAP: Modified Atmosphere Packaging is the most used way to achieve this result in the Milk Powder industry. This process consists of replacing the oxygen inside the package with a gas mixture, that increases the durability of the product. A pre-gassing process reduces the air inside the bag before the bagging stage. A post-gassing phase is then happening after the product is bagged.

Secondary packaging solutions for milk powder

Bags in small formats can be grouped in bundles, with one our shrink wrapping machine. Or they could be packed in cases with a Case packing machine which can be equipped with a pick & place system.

What about Pallettising?

The palletising process can be done using a cartesian or a layer palletiser, according to the required speed and bag types.

You can also customise this process, with an automatic empty pallet storage and feeder and a cardboard sheet applicator.

Pallet Wrapping Machines

In the end, pallet wrapping machines are used to prevent the pallet from wheather and bumps. We offer both automatic and semi automatic pallet wrapping machines, according to the customer needs in term of speed and space availability. To complete the wrapping process we also offer a top sheet device and hooding systems.
